One commonly accepted method for the disposal of
leftover paint is to dispose of the paint via kitty litter.
Kitty litter's excellent asorbancy allows the paint to dry out
quickly and be disposed of in the regular trash.
Let paint cans with
small amounts of paint (less than an inch) dry out. Be sure to
place the paint cans in an area inaccessible by children and pets
during this period. Leave the lid off and allow the paint to
completely dry. Dispose of metal paint cans and lids with other
metal recycling materials once the paint has dried.
PaintCare is a new California program that accepts paint
and paint products. Go to
www.Paintcare.org to find participating locations and
acceptable materials.
